Donna's Dreams Outreach

Three out of every four families in our community has some connection to domestic abuse. We are one of the three families.  We would like to share a small part of Donna’s story with you.

Donna was beautiful soul, a mother, a beloved daughter, and older sister.  She loved listening to the birds sing, pumpkins, strawberries, and collecting both Santa statues and dolls.  Donna had a huge heart and would be the very first to help.  She was an amazing cook and made the best homemade chicken noodle soup. 

Many years back, she fell in love and got married.  As the years went on, the abuse escalated.  Like many abuse victims, she felt she couldn’t or shouldn’t leave.  At the hands of her abuser, Donna perished in November 2016.

In memory of the joy she brought us and the plight she did not escape, Under The Horizon has expanded our outreach efforts to further support victims of domestic violence. 

Our efforts include:

• Beginning 2017 – “The Annual Pumpkin Paint” a ceramic event where attendees enjoy painting fun fall ceramics.
• Fall 2022 expanded our outreach effort to support New Life for Girls.  We organize supply drives for the items they need most.  In addition to visiting 4+ times a year to share God's love through the art of pottery.
